THE TOBACCO SAMPLER February 18, 1999 Another month gone. It seems the older I get, the faster the months go by. My wife Jackie and my sons Stephen and Jonathan are well and I hope you are to. As you might be aware, I have been in Boy Scouting for the past 6 years with my sons. I was past Cubmaster for our CubScout Pack 264. Since my oldest boy, Stephen, has advanced to the Boy Scouts I have been devoting my time to both the Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts. Our Boy Scout Troop 264 has asked me to become Assistant Scout Master. I have devoted a lot of time freely to the scouts and will continue to do so. It seems that our troop committee wanted me to get more involved. I think it is because I speak my mind about the topics at hand and some of the other parents don't want to become highly involved. I just love scouts and helping out as much as possible. As always, I want to thank you personally for your continued patronage of THE TOBACCO SHOP, Inc. For those of you who have entered our weekly contests, you have probably gotten an email from me indicating your 2nd place consolation prize. Well I didn't realize that by sending this email out that some people would get very irate with me. I got 3 emails that were very unique. One laughed at me for sending the email. One asked "is this a joke?". And one even went to the trouble to post it on a newsgroup insinuating that the contest was a sham (It turns out his web site has a contest where he gives away cigars). I guess he was just offended by my contest in some way. Most sent a kind thank you email and then reentered the contest. I just thought it was a good idea to send some sort of consolation prize to everyone that entered the contest. I still think it was a good idea and I will continue to do just that. I have added a chat room to our website for your use. My thought was that you would use the chat room to discuss tobacco issues, etc. I have also added a forum, kinda like a newsgroup where you can add posts and read other posts. I hope you take advantage of it. I am also redesigning all of our web pages, about 280, to reflect a better look and ease of operations. Let me know what you think. If you run across a page that just doesn't work please let me know. Well until next time, please enjoy life. Randy Biggs
